This dataset contains multiproxy sedimentary records from two marine sediment cores, MD96-2060 (Mozambique Channel, western Indian Ocean, 8°15'S, 40°26'E, 2026 m water depth) and MD97-2125 (Coral Sea, southwest Pacific Ocean, 22°34'S, 161°44'E, 1684 m water depth), spanning the past 1 million years. Data include: (1) benthic foraminiferal stable isotopes (δ13C and δ18O, Cibicidoides wuellerstorfi); (2) fine-fraction carbonate stable isotopes (δ13C, <30 µm fraction); (3) coccolithophore assemblage counts, coccolith mass and size distribution measured by automated polarizing light microscopy (SYRACO system); (4) Noelaerhabdaceae Mass Accumulation Rate (NoMAR) and Morphological Divergence Index (MDI); (5) bulk carbonate content (CaCO3 %); (6) X-ray fluorescence (XRF) elemental intensities; (7) sediment wet and dry bulk density. Age models were established by orbital tuning of benthic foraminiferal δ18O records to the global benthic stack of Ahn et al. (2017), complemented by paleomagnetic stratigraphy and radiocarbon dating.
