This experiment will attempt to discover an experimental signature of F-(mu-)-F, the mu- analogue of the famous F-mu+-F entangled state, as well as a H-(mu-)-H state. Both states are hypothesised to be present if negative muons are implanted in PTFE and polyethylene, respectively. This is a key test of μ−SR, and will be supported by DFT+μ− calculations of the effect of a negative muon stopping at the carbon site, as well as analysis software developed by G. Gill that enables different stopping sites to be distinguished.
