Microbes related to greenhouse gas flows in eutrophic tropical freshwater reservoirs

This study identified the sediment microbial communities related to the atmospheric greenhouse gas flows of three eutrophic tropical freshwater reservoirs around the Sao Paulo megalopolis, and the limnological factors driving these communities. Given the potential of freshwater reservoirs to promote methane and carbon dioxide flows and microbial participation in producing and consuming these gases, knowledge of microbial communities will allow a better understanding of gaseous dynamics in these ecosystems, ensuring its relevance.
