资源简介:
BACKGROUND: Nonspecific low back pain (NSLBP) is primarily characterized by pain in the lumbar region, but it can potentially impact respiratory muscles. Diaphragm is the primary inspiratory muscle and its play an essential role in controlling the spine during postural control. In low back pain the diaphragm muscle becomes weak due to which the respiratory functions may decrease.
Aim: To evaluate the pulmonary parameters in patients with non-specific low back pain and compare it with normal adults.
Methodology: A cross-sectional study was conducted on a sample of NSLBP patients (n=113) and normal adults (n=113). Pulmonary parameters were assessed (spirometry variables: FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC, PEFR, SVC, andMVV; chest expansion) in both groups.
