Agricultural Life Cycle Assessment Dataset of Phase 3 Classification, Characterization, Normalization, and Weighting

This dataset provides structured Phase 3 Life Cycle Impact Assessment (LCIA) data for agricultural life cycle assessment (LCA) studies. The dataset was developed through a systematic review of 184 agricultural LCA studies published between 1999 and 2025, including 13 review papers covering different crops and production systems. The dataset compiles classification, characterization, normalization, and weighting information reported in the reviewed studies into a traceable Excel-based structure. A total of 36 impact category names were identified and grouped into broader themes such as climate change, human health, ecosystem toxicity, eutrophication, acidification, resource use, land and biodiversity, and ozone-related impacts. The dataset includes characterization equations and factors, normalization approaches, weighting methods, and supporting references exactly as reported in the original studies. All data are organized into separate Excel sheets and linked using unique study IDs to support traceability, reuse, comparison across studies, and integration into agricultural LCA databases, frameworks, and automated assessment tools.
