Radish (Raphanus sativus L.) is an economically important vegetable and potentially fascinating plant to identify the HM-response genes. However, the potential regulatory mechanisms of Cd tolerance remain largely unknown. In the present study, physiological index investigation on malondialdehyde (MDA) contents and antioxidant enzyme (SOD, POD and CAT) activities showed XCB has a stronger detoxification capacity than HX. In addition, the key factors accounting for differential Cd tolerance were investigated using two contrasting local radish cultivars (XCB and HX).
