The Pacific Banana Slug (Ariolimax columbianus) is one of the largest slugs in North America, reaching lengths of up to ten inches. Their range consists of the dense temperate rainforest that spans the west coast of the United States and Canada, and Alaska. As decomposers, these slugs consume dead plant and animal matter, as well as the occasional mushroom or young plant seedling. These data have been produced as part of the CCGP. Sequencing was conducted with HiFi Pacific Biosciences long reads at UCDavis Genome Core, Dovetail's OmniC libraries, and Illumina sequencing at UCBerkeley QB3 Genomics Core.
