资源简介:
The purpose of an admission register was to record basic details about children admitted to the school, and about their parents or guardians. The registers were also used to record the progress of the children through various classes and the date of their leaving the school. Admission registers in paper format ceased in 1999 when the department moved to recording enrolment details in electronic format. This volume contains information pertaining to each pupil including: date of admission; pupil's name, age and religious denomination; date of leaving previous school and class in previous school at time of leaving. The following details are recorded about the child's parents or guardians: name, residence and occupation. The pupil's date of admission to each subsequent grade, date of leaving the school, and the reason for leaving are also recorded.Pupils are listed in order of admission, except that the entries for the years 1882 to 1885 appear to have been entered retrospectively in 1886, and are not all in order. Entries are numbered sequentially from the beginning of the volume, with the numbering being continuous from year to year until 1894, and then recommencing. Girls and boys are listed on opposite pages, and are numbered in distinct sequences. When the new numbering was commenced in 1894, eighteen current boys’ enrolments and sixteen girls’ were re-entered and re-numbered as part of the new number sequences. Some papers have been inserted loose between the pages of the volume, including two quarterly programmes for teacher’s attendance at Laguna and Wattagon Half-time Schools during 1911.
