VPRS 16850 Register of Patients Diagnosed with Cancer

This register comprises of recorded information of patients diagnosed with cancer between January 1945 and December 1984 (across a double folio until 1972) and includes an annual serial number, full name and address, age, sex, religion, diagnosis, admission date, the name of the general practitioner and the referring hospital, history and procedures carried out and date of discharge, transfer or death. From Feb 1970, the information recorded is condensed onto one page and the parent's names are included. A quarter of the register has blank pages, most likely due to the information being stored electronically after 1984.Prior to transfer to Public Record Office Victoria, the records in this series were maintained as part of the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) Archives. They were part of RCH accession number 2006/016.
