Carvalho Brazilian Native Tree Species Dataset (CBNTSD) Overview: The Carvalho Brazilian Native Tree Species Dataset (CBNTSD) is a curated ecological dataset developed to support the research presented in "An ML-Based Approach for Ecological Restoration: Species Selection and Successional Planting Design". The dataset was manually compiled, harmonized, and structured from the five volumes of "Espécies Arbóreas Brasileiras" by Carvalho (2003–2014), one of the most comprehensive references on native Brazilian tree species. BNTSRD contains ecological, silvicultural, reproductive, climatic, edaphic, biogeographic, and restoration-related information for 340 native tree species occurring in Brazil. The original information extracted from the source literature was standardized and transformed into a machine-readable format suitable for computational analysis, ecological decision support, and machine learning workflows. Primary data source: Carvalho, P. E. R. Espécies Arbóreas Brasileiras, Volumes 1–5 (2003–2014). The published dataset represents a manually curated, standardized, and computationally structured derivative dataset developed for ecological restoration planning and machine learning applications.
