Brown bear modern and palaeogenome study

We investigate the evolutionary and demographic relationships among brown bear populations sampled from across their Holarctic range (Fig 1a), using a combination of contemporary and ancient nuclear genomes. Specifically, we investigate (i) population structure among contemporary, Holocene, and Late Pleistocene individuals, (ii) phylogenomic relationships between contemporary populations, and (iii) comparative long-term (~500,000 years) demographic histories of contemporary individuals.
