A co-culture, containing Micrarchaeon A_DKE and Thermoplasmatales member B_DKE was analyzed on genomic and transcriptomic level. The culture was isolated from environmental samples of an acidophilic snotitte biofilm over a period of 5 years. Sampling took place in an AMD site of former pyrite mine "Drei Kronen & Ehrt". To investigate the yet poorly understood life style of both organism, a meta-genome sequencing and assembly of whole genomes was conducted. In order to examine the interaction between A_DKE and B_DKE a meta-transcriptome of the co-culture was compared with a transcriptome of a pure culture of B_DKE.
