The water depth and temperature data was collected using multiple ships as part of Tropical Ocean Global Atmosphere (TOGA) project from TOGA Area - Pacific (30 N to 30 S) from April 1, 1985 to February 21, 1991. The originator's bathythermograph (XBT and SBT) data containing 1063 observations was submitted in a tape by Jean-Paul Rebert of Institut Francais de Recherche pour l'Exploitation de la Mer (IFREMER)-Brest, Plouzane, France. The data has been converted and is now available on line in C116-Bathythermograph-XBT, C125-Bathythermograph-XBT-Selected Depths and C128-Bathythermograph-MBT file formats of NODC.
