Presently, pot experiment of biochar amendment were carried out for Chinese cherry. In order to demonstrate the expression pattern of genes in response to biochar amendment and screen out the key regulatory ones, roots of one-year-old seedlings were collected at 120 days post transplantation (DPT) for transcriptome sequencing. Meanwhile, fluctuation of rhizosphere bacterial community was looked into via metagenome analysis of the adherent soil. In addition to amendment with normal biochar, chemical-free biochar was applied as a control to figure out whether either labile organic carbon fraction or recalcitrant carbon backbone played the dominant role in community shift.
