This metadata record documents the predation and facilitation experiment data. The goal of this experiment was to determine if sea stars (Pisaster ochraceous) and whelks (Nucella sp.) were preventing mussels from utilizing the lower intertidal zone, or if whelks were removing the barnacles (Balanus glandula) that facilitate the growth of mussel beds into the low zone.
