VPRS 12155 Register of Inward Correspondence

The Latrobe Valley Development Advisory Committee, with the Central Planning Authority operated under the auspices of the Division of State Development, Premiers Department (VA 2717). Their function was to advise on the development of the Latrobe Valley and its resources in a period when development and decentralisation were to be planned on a regional basis.This series registers summary details of correspondence received by the Committee.Details given in the registers are the Number, when and from whom received, the number and date of the letter, the subject and how it was disposed of. Once the piece of correspondence was registered, VPRS 3681 File Registration Cards was consulted. These gave the authorised subject classifications and the corresponding file numbers for the file upon which the correspondence was placed. Entries in the final column of the registers gave that file number. Correspondence Files with contents from an earlier period are in custody as VPRS 10256 Correspondence Files.
