Cyclic tests were conducted on potential material interfaces for a low-cost sliding isolation system for light frame structures. This system uses high-friction interfaces to reduce required design isolation displacements. Dynamic tests are then conducted with high intensity ground motions to measure isolation displacements induced by earthquakes. Both a flat slider, and a slider with a restoring component (dish) are tested.
