Snow Depth on Sea Ice from CryoSat-2 and IceSat-2

Monthly maps of Snow Depth and Sea Ice Thickness, including uncertainties, for Arctic and Antarctic, covering from Oct. 2018 to April 2024. All year round in Antarctic, from October to April in Arctic. A monthly climatology is also provided in order to cover outside this period. The climatology only includes the snow depth (no sea ice thickness). These datasets have been computed from CryoSat-2 radar-freeboard and IceSat-2 lidar-freeboard in the context of Cryo-TEMPO ESA project. The maps are NetCDF files and in EASE2 projection (EPSG 6931 for Arctic, EPSG 6932 for Antarctic) with a resolution of 25km. and covering from 50° to 90° of latitude South and North. The methodology is described in [Carret et al 2025] but it is an upgraded version based on Cryo-TEMPO baseline C Sea Ice thematic product and with some interpolations to better cover the Southern Ocean. A version has been computed using baseline D but baseline C performs better.
