T. pratensis is the maternal parent of the short-liguled (S) individuals, and T. dubius is the maternal parent of the long-liguled (L) individuals. An asterisk (*) indicates homeolog loss in T. miscellus. The artificial hybrid contained equal mixture of T. dubius and T. pratensis genomic DNA (a) or cDNA (b).
