OverviewThis repository contains the dataset and MATLAB source codes for the comprehensive characterization of the multilevel lava-tube system. Repository Structure and ContentsThe repository is organized into four main directories, corresponding to the sequential workflow of our study: 1. Seismic and geomechanical models and codesThis folder contains the codes and data required to convert seismic velocities into geomechanical properties (e.g., Cohesion, Friction Angle, Rock Mass Modulus) using empirical rock mechanics criteria (e.g., Hoek-Brown).model_para.mat: Input dataset containing basic parameters (seismic velocities, density, etc.).CalculateRockProperties.m: Core function to calculate dynamic moduli and static rock mass parameters.seis2geo.m: Main script to execute the seismic-to-geomechanical conversion workflow.plt_models.m: Script to visualize the 2D seismic models. 2. Stability models and codesThis folder focuses on the quantitative assessment of lava-tube preservation state and mechanical stability (damage localization).models.mat: Data file containing stability analysis results for different safety factors.plt_damage.m: Main plotting script to visualize damage zones across the conduit system.plasma.m & freezeColors.m: Utility functions for advanced colormap rendering and multi-colormap figure handling. 3. Anomaly_detection results and codesThis folder provides the detected seismic anomaly profiles across multiple survey lines.detection_L1.mat to detection_L6.mat: Processed anomaly detection results for Lines 1 through 6.plt_detection.m: Script to plot and assemble the anomaly profiles for geometric interpretation. 4. Cal_flux results and codesThis folder contains the algorithms and data for estimating lava discharge and transport flux based on the reconstructed conduit geometries (using the Jeffreys method).calc_flux.m: Core function to calculate local and mean transport flux, effective flow depth, and velocities.old_flux.mat & young_flux.mat: Geometric and parameter datasets for the deeper (older) and shallower (younger/Holocene) conduit generations, respectively.check_flux.m: Execution scripts to run flux estimations for shallower (younger/Holocene) conduit under various viscosity scenarios.plt_flux.m: Script to visualize the flux comparison between the deep and shallow systems. How to UseClone or download this repository to your local machine.Open MATLAB and navigate to the desired folder.Run the respective plt_*.m or check_*.m scripts to generate the figures and reproduce the results presented in our manuscript.(Note: Ensure that the current folder is added to your MATLAB path so that .mat data files and utility functions can be loaded properly.)
