Figure & Table Bibliometric Insights into the Impact of Technology on Business Process Management (1994-2024)

This study investigates the impact of technology on Business Process Management (BPM) using a bibliometric approach. The research focuses on analyzing the evolution, key themes, and global trends in BPM within the context of technological advancements. The study aims to answer two primary research questions; explores how technology has influenced BPM over time, while maps global research trends in this field. Utilizing the Bibliometric method, the study analyzes 1713 documents sourced from the Scopus database, chosen for its comprehensive and high-quality coverage of relevant publications. The findings reveal that the integration of technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain has significantly enhanced BPM, leading to increased efficiency and innovation. Additionally, the study identifies a strong trend of international collaboration in BPM research, highlighting the global interest in this area. These findings provide valuable insights for academics, business practitioners, and policymakers, offering a comprehensive understanding of how technology shapes BPM. The study's limitations include its reliance on the Scopus database and the predominance of English-language publications, which may introduce bias. Future research should consider a broader range of sources and include qualitative methods to deepen the understanding of technology's impact on BPM. This research contributes to the field by providing a systematic analysis of technological influences on BPM, guiding future research directions and strategic decision-making in technology-driven BPM.
