Epidemiology, management, and outcomes of patients hospitalized with community-acquired infection in a resource-limited setting in Southeast Asia: a prospective observational study.

We conducted a prospective, observational study from May 2022-August 2023 at two hospitals in northeast Thailand. Adults hospitalized with community-acquired infection were enrolled within 24 hours of hospital admission. Patient information including demographics as well as clinical, laboratory and microbiological data were recorded. Patients were followed, including after discharge, for the primary outcome of 28-day mortality. We identified patients meeting Sepsis-3 criteria and assessed related epidemiology, management, and mortality risk factors.
