We isolated three novel species in the genus Marivirga from different samples collected in the west sea south korea. We characterized all three strains using polyphasic taxonomic approaches. All the novel strains and four reference strains in the genus Marivirga will be analyzed using a genomic approach to find important genes with roles in the environment and at the industrial level.All the reference strain genomes were retrieved from NCBI except the fifth reference strain Marivirga harenae KCTC 92433 genome were sequence in KRIBB/KCTC which will be analysed for comparative genomic study.
