Biological Nitrogen Fixation Assessment of the Indian Ocean

Biological nitrogen fixation plays an essential role in sustaining the primary production in the ocean by providing nitrogen in the form of bioavailable ammonium. The Indian Ocean is one such region where the dearth of nitrogen fixation rate measurements exists. This comparison highlights the presently available data during different seasons in the two sub-regions of the Indian Ocean i.e., the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal.
