Effect of crab effluent on lobster interactions

We exposed two different size classes of juvenile lobsters (Homarus americanus) to either control seawater or seawater with green crab (Carcinus maenas) effluent. This was done in arenas in the lab, with one shelter available and two lobsters in the tank at once. The process was recorded with time-lapse photographs (0.5s) and then aggression and shelter use were quantified. You can read the manuscript for additional detail.
