Opinion of non-smokers on intended smoking ban in pachinko parlors in Japan 2018

A survey conducted between November and December 2018 in Japan revealed that the majority of non-smoking pachinko players would be indifferent to the possibility of banning smoking from parlors, while only 2.5 percent stated that they would not visit establishments with a ban anymore. That year, the Japanese government enforced stricter laws on smoking in public areas in light of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, with intentions of extending a smoking ban to pachinko parlors.
