The present disclosure relates to a method for producing a board product， and a board product thus produced. The method comprises providing a base board， producing one or more sheets of veneer (3) by drying a flitch (1) and sawing the flitch into veneer sheets (3) having a thickness in the range 0.5-1.7 mm. The sheets of veneer are glued to the base board.
