Satellite-based monitoring of the Pârcovaci reservoir water surface and its link to water-supply interruptions, north-eastern Romania (2018–2025)

This dataset supports a satellite-based study of the Parcovaci reservoir (Iasi County, north-eastern Romania) and its link to water-supply dynamics, covering the period 2018-2025. Sentinel-2 imagery was used to derive the annual water-surface area of the reservoir via the Normalized Difference Water Index (NDWI), which was then related to annual climate variability. Contents:- Monthly and annual NDWI-derived water-surface-area exports for the reservoir (CSV).- A statistical analysis workbook (annual water-area statistics, annual climate summary, Pearson correlations, tables and figures) for 2018-2025.- Supporting documentation describing file structure, variables and units. Climate variables summarised include mean maximum temperature, number of hot days (>32 C), total precipitation and mean soil moisture. Derived products are shared under CC BY 4.0.
