A DEEP OBSERVATION OF THE GALACTIC BULGE

We propose to take advantage of the low interstellar absorption in the W0.22.1window (l0.2,b2.1, NH virgul 4e21 cm2 to carry out a deep survey of the centralparts of the Galaxy. We shall detect faint Xray bulge sources with Lx above3e31 erg/s (0.52 keV) and shall probe the galactic disk population over thefirst virgul 4 kpc. This window which is the closest known to the galactic centeroffers unique prospects for optical identification and followup studies atlarge distances. Among expected bulge sources are cataclysmic variables, Xraytransients in quisecence and progenitors or descendants of the bright low massXray binaries. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
