The whole genome resequencing data was used to identify thousands of SNPs to quantify genetic diversity in four Portuguese native sheep breeds and a population of crossed Merino. Further, these SNPs was used in GWAS studies to enable detection of genetic markers for gastrointestinal parasites and footrot resistance.
