Bandages as The Base for Wearable Biosensors

This thesis investigates how commercial bandages can be used to create wearable biosensors. It explains the key factors involved in developing a foetal movement sensor that is comfortable, stable, and suitable for long-term use outside health care settings. The study tests different materials and sensor layouts to identify reliable options for daily activity. The work also explores a bandage-based TENG device, originally intended for power generation but later adapted as a sensor for detecting different materials in recycling processes. This approach also shows potential for helping visually impaired people identify objects through simple, low-cost sensing.
