Natural Infection of Hybrid Sturgeon with Nocardia seriolae and White Sturgeon Iridovirus: Pathological and Transcriptomic Analyses

In August 2023, hybrid sturgeons in Sichuan, China, showed infectious disease symptoms including ulcers, liver and spleen nodules, and high mortality rates. To elucidate the cause of this disease, the study involved the isolation and identification of pathogenic bacteria, as well as qRT-PCR detection of white sturgeon iridovirus.To investigate the immune response of hybrid sturgeons to this co-infection, spleen transcriptomes were analyzed.
