TRAVIC

TRAVIC is a worldwide available tracker of public transport. Unlike many other trackers, TRAVIC is designed for high performance. This allows very large amounts of data to be processed (currently more than 700 transport companies worldwide are integrated). On the other hand, the presentation of the means of transport is particularly fluid and without jerking. The routes of all modes of transport in TRAVIC follow exact geographical routes. If the exact routes are not already included in the timetable data, TRAVIC uses a sophisticated routing algorithm that finds the correct routes for the various means of transport including buses. The publication of TRAVIC has generated great positive feedback worldwide. In particular, the publication on channels such as wired.com or golem.de has resulted in up to half a million traffic to TRAVIC per month. The project was developed in cooperation with the University of Freiburg as a master thesis by Patrick Brosi (<http://patrickbrosi.de>). Since completing the thesis, TRAVIC has been operated jointly by geOps and Patrick. TRAVIC is on the one hand a showcase, which is possible with public timetable data, on the other hand TRAVIC also stands for individual solutions, which our company offers in the field of public transport.
