Deoxygenation in the Equatorial Panthalassan Ocean Predated the End-Triassic Mass Extinction

This dataset supports analyses presented in Deoxygenation in the equatorial Panthalassan Ocean predated the end-Triassic mass extinction. It contains, stratigraphic, biostratigraphic, and geochemical data from the Grotto Creek section in Alaska, spanning the Late Triassic to Early Jurassic interval. Data include sample identifiers, stratigraphic height, age assignments, biostratigraphic zonation, organic carbon and nitrogen stable isotope compositions (δ¹³C and δ¹⁵N), and iron speciation measurements. Samples were collected at ~1m stratigraphic resolution and analyzed using isotope ratio mass spectrometer and sequential iron extraction methods.The samples for this research were collected from the Grotto Creek field site located in Wrangell–St. Elias National Park and Preserve under research and collecting permits WRST-2017-SCI0004 and WRST-2018-SC1-0005.
