Immunosuppressive drugs have been associated with development of invasive infections by group A Streptococcus (GAS). We provide the whole-genome sequence of an invasive emm4 serotype of GAS from a pediatric patient undergoing IL-6 immunotherapy who developed sepsis. Notably, this isolate lacks cov/csr frameshift mutations that often confer hypervirulence.
