The Point Pleasant Pennsylvania site (36BU23) is located on the west
bonk of the Delaware River in Bucks County. Situated on the floodplain
between the river and the Delaware Pennsylvania conal, which was completed
in 1832, this site includes stacked floodplain deposits that are subject to
periodic flooding. Stratigraphic pollen samples were collected in three
areas to assess paleoenvironmental conditions at this site. Flotation
samples were collected from various features and zones throughout the site
for the purpose of recovering charred macrofloral remains. These
macrofloral remains may be indicators of subsistence activities at the site.
