Blackheath consultation summary report

This Community Consultation Summary Report (the Report) captures the outcomes from the recent Blackheath route options consultation.\r\nBetween Monday 12 October and Saturday 28 November 2021, Transport for NSW (TfNSW) carried out public consultation and invited feedback from the community and stakeholders on the proposed portal locations for a tunnel bypass of Blackheath, as part of the Great Western Highway Upgrade Program from Katoomba to Lithgow.\r\nThe consultation also invited suggestions on other improvements that could be made to the existing Highway to improve safety, amenity and connectivity in Blackheath.\r\nThe Blackheath route option consultation was open to all interested stakeholders within the Blue Mountains and beyond.\r\nThe insights and feedback gathered from the community and stakeholders in this stage of consultation has contributed to the decision on which tunnel portals will progress into more detailed design and analysis. Information gathered will also be considered in decision making as the wider Program progresses. The project team will use the knowledge gained to refine and improve the tunnel design to minimise impacts on, and create added benefits for, the township of Blackheath.\n\n**Note:** This resource was originally published on opengov.nsw.gov.au.
