Biological activated carbon was obtained from a up-flow biological contact filter (referred to as BAC-UF1, sampled in Nov. 2023, and BAC-UF2, sampled in Jan. 2024) and from a biological filter post-ozonation (referred to as BAC-OZ, sampled in Dec. 2023) at a drinking water treatment facility in Tokyo, Japan. BAC-UF received raw river water as influent, while BAC-OZ received ozonated water. DNA and RNA were extracted, and DNA and cDNA were utilized for amplicon sequencing.
