By applying a new culturing method to iron-rich sediments from a Japanese hot spring, a new species of autotrophic Fe(II)-oxidizing bacteria has been isolated. Draft genome analysis of the isolated Fe(II)-oxidizing bacteria (Family Gallionellaceae) was performed using shotgun sequencing, and those data were uploaded.
