泛中亚干旱区的气候复杂多变,植被具有较高的生态敏感性。比叶面积(Specific leaf area,SLA)是反映植物获取资源和适应环境能力的关键叶功能性状,已被广泛应用于植被响应环境变化研究。本数据集收集了2000-2023年泛中亚干旱区(包括哈萨克斯坦、吉尔吉斯斯坦、塔吉克斯坦、乌兹别克斯坦、土库曼斯坦、蒙古以及中国北部的新疆、青海、甘肃、宁夏和内蒙古)公开发表的植物比叶面积的文献资料,构建了泛中亚干旱区植物比叶面积观测数据集。数据集包含362个物种共835条比叶面积的观测记录,涵盖落叶阔叶乔木、落叶阔叶灌木、草本植物等8种植物功能类型。此外,还包含了采样点经纬度、海拔、地理位置、文献出处等辅助信息。

The Pan-Central Asian arid zone features complex and variable climates, with its vegetation exhibiting high ecological sensitivity. Specific leaf area (SLA) is a key leaf functional trait that reflects plants' resource acquisition capacity and environmental adaptation ability, and has been widely utilized in studies on vegetation responses to environmental changes. This dataset compiles publicly published literature data on plant specific leaf area (SLA) from the Pan-Central Asian arid zone (including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Mongolia, as well as northern Chinese regions: Xinjiang, Qinghai, Gansu, Ningxia, and Inner Mongolia) spanning the period from 2000 to 2023, and constructs an observational dataset of plant SLA for the Pan-Central Asian arid zone. The dataset contains 835 SLA observational records across 362 plant species, covering 8 plant functional types such as deciduous broad-leaved trees, deciduous broad-leaved shrubs, herbaceous plants, and others. Additionally, it includes auxiliary information such as the latitude and longitude, elevation, geographic location, and literature citation of the sampling sites.
