MWC Beanie

During the early to mid 20th century, at Mary Washington, freshmen students were required to wear beanies their first couple of weeks on campus. This was to distinguish them from upperclassmen, as they were puposed to provide help to them. On the other hand, if a freshmen were caught without her beanie she would have to a favor for the person who caught her. In the 1960s, around the same time when the college became co-ed, the beanies were not required any longer. This beanie belonged to a devil, as evident by the red fabric.
