We report that Nod2, a pattern recognition receptor, protects from high fat diet-dependent liver malignancy and this protection is accompanied by changes in gene expression for cell proliferation, inflammation and steroid biosynthesis. Overall design: We compared RNA populations in the liver from WT and Nod2-/- mice treated with a carcinogen and maintained on high fat diet for 30 weeks.
