More Metadata This data was produced in compliance with the constitution of the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Code of Virginia, which mandate that counties redraw their Board of Supervisor election districts based of the results of the most recent decennial census, in this case 2010. Redrawing the boundaries ensures equal representation of the population. Each election district is required to have a similar population count, generally within +/- 5% of the equalized decennial census population of the County, which is calculated using the Loudoun County decennial Census population divided by the number of districts.
