Drake et al. settlement tile coral recruit abundance and benthic taxa across the Great Barrier Reef and Torres Straits

Coral recruit abundance, benthic taxa percent cover, spatial, and environmental data of unique settlement tiles deployed across ecological gradients along the GBR and Torres Straits ("Drake et al settlement tiles.xlsx"). These data are used to understand which environmental conditions and benthic taxa best predict coral recruit densities across environmental gradients. The settlement tiles were deployed at 141 stations in 2021 and collected after 20 to 24 months.Benthic taxa on settlement tiles were classified using the AI software ReefCloud (https://reefcloud.ai/). To validate the use of the software with respect to the present data, a random subset of 25% of the settlement tile images were annotated under 20 evenly spaced grid points.
