As an important step to understand the behaviour of phages when used as a therapy, this study aims to evaluate the effect of the Salmonella phage cocktail in the microbiota of the cecum of broilers when phages are incorporated in the drinking water in a commercial farm. This work was performed using the same experimental design as described in Clavijo et al 2019, and through 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Altogether, this work expands the knowledge about the effect of phages in the microbiota while used as therapy in broilers. Furthermore, the results will help to reveal the performance of phages in the commercial farming conditions. One other important contribution of this work is to present to the best of our knowledge the first approach to the composition of broilers microbiota over the growth stage of broilers when are under farming conditions.
