资源简介:
Insitu, year-round data from subsurface moorings deployed in both channels of the Bering Strait from summer 2007 - summer 2009 (8 moorings). All moorings recorded lower layer water velocity, temperature and salinity ~ hourly. Six moorings recorded upper layer temperature and salinity. Some instruments also recorded fluorescence and turbidity. Six upward looking Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCP) recorded water velocity at different levels in the east of the channel and some measure of ice velocity and ice thickness. These moorings were recovered and redeployed in October 2008 and finally recovered in August 2009. The mooring program is funded by the National Science Foundation funded Arctic Observing Network (NSF-AON), with logistical support from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration - Russian American Long-Term Census of the Arctic (NOAA-RUSALCA) program, lead PI. T. Weingartner. Related data sets include various conductivity, temperature, and depth (CTD) data and other years of Bering Strait moorings, deployed almost continuously since 1990. For an overview, see http://psc.apl.washington.edu/BeringStrait.html, and/or search this archive or the National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC). Bering Strait data are standardly submitted to NODC for permanent archiving.
