This dataset provides the PRISMA screening record and search strings supporting the literature review in "Toward Target-Driven Circular Economy Transition Pathways through Absolute Environmental Sustainability Assessment (AESA): An Application to the Plastics Sector." The Excel workbook documents two searches conducted in Scopus and Web of Science on August 13, 2026: circular economy and AESA, and plastics and AESA. It records screening decisions and reasons for exclusion and classifies the retained publications by allocation paths, assessment levels, and temporal characteristics. These characteristics include prospective assessment, background system representation, and the temporal treatment of allocated shares and carrying capacities.
