We assess whether the CEACAM priming by antibody treatment alters the C. albicans-induced transcriptional response and thereby the long-term reaction (up to 24 h) of neutrophils. We chose three antibodies recognizing CEACAM1 (B3-17), CEACAM3 (308-3-3), and CEACAM6 (1H7-4B), respectively, for the analysis of their impact on the transcriptional response of human neutrophils to C. albicans 2 h post-infection. Untreated cells and mouse IgG1-treated cells served as controls. Surprisingly, CEACAM6 ligation and to some extent CEACAM1 ligation, but not CEACAM3 ligation led to an altered gene regulation of the Ca-stimulated neutrophils.
