In 2019, it was estimated that over 11 percent of over 45 year olds in Wales were suffering from osteoarthritis of the hip, with the respective shares in England and Scotland slightly lower. In England the share of those over 45 years suffering from hip osteoarthritis translates to approximately 2.46 million people.
