Commit-Level Dataset on Organizational Participation in 975 Open Source Software Projects
收藏资源简介:
This dataset provides a commit-level view of organizational participation in 975 popular Python open-source software (OSS) projects, constructed for research on OSS governance, contribution dynamics, and leadership patterns. Projects were drawn from two Software Heritage snapshots (2019 and 2024). From 3,495 candidates, 975 GitHub-hosted repositories were successfully mined using PyDriller. Contributor emails were processed to extract registered domains, filter out generic providers and bots, and map domains to canonical organization names, retaining only firm-likely and academic-likely commits. The dataset contains 1,924,792 commit records attributed to 10,054 unique organizations. Fields include: Project, Contributor Email, Commit Date, Insertions, Deletions, Files Changed, Email Domain, Organization, and Label. Released to support reproducibility and further research on OSS governance. Source: Software Heritage (2019 & 2024). Tool: PyDriller. Format: CSV (UTF-8).
